New Product Release And Thoughts On Custom Orders

It's funny how things can change in one simple interaction. Before opening my shop I really thought that I would never be interested in custom items. I would create and pefect my items and release them as ready to ship. I couldn't see how custom orders would work for me.

Then a blogging friend of mine approached me about a special project. My friend Carla saw my new Facebook page and inquired if I would be interested in creating some zipper pulls for her items. I was elated. I had never made zipper pulls before but when I looked into it I felt confident that I could make them. We emailed back and forth and struck a deal. I absolutely love her work and I was a little nervous to be creating something to be paired with her amazing items.

It was a very fun challenge. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me realize that custom orders were not to be scoffed at. Carla's request really changed my perspective and it lead to me offering a new product. I am so thankful to her for opening me up to this. It was a wonderful offer for a new business.

Recently on my Facebook page people have been suggesting varations of things they see posted on my wall. I am definitely enjoying the interaction and feedback. Again, it's made me realize that I need to step out of the box more and try new things. The best thing I can do for my business is to listen to what my customer base is asking for. I am very lucky to have the support of my customers with my new Etsy shop.
